Adieu

Alphanabees,

Ambitious. Thick skinned. Creative.

Qualities, one must posess to be a successful blogger. Do I have all these qualities? You, my dear reader can be the judge of that.

After some careful consideration, I have decided to leave MassieBlockBlawggie for good. For a while blogging was all about over riding the other ‘Fassies’, the rare BZ Mclaughlin photographs, the stats and the comments. Then I dove in a little further and wrote with a little more creative flair which was fun for a while. Now it  feels like a creative writing assignment and the rewards are declining. It’s like a chore. Annnd I’m not getting paid for it.

The Clique was ah-mazing at thirteen but I’m growing up and it’s so immature. I have a life beyond WordPress with amazing people that I love. That’s not to say I don’t adore you, I’ve met some of the funniest, caring most generous people here and I don’t regret my decision to create a role playing blog. Today marks the first day of my summer hollidays ( well technically, school just finished an hour ago). I’m also leaving the school I currently attend so I’ve said heaps of goodbyes and now I’m doing my WordPress one. I know that eventually, I’ll have to give up roleplaying. So why not do it now? Just a year on WordPress was fun but I don’t want to live any fictional character’s life any longer now. I know many Massies this past year have said they would leave but never did but I assure you

This Will Be My Very Last Post. From time to time, you may see me commenting on an especially well done post. I’ll still be there, reading, watching fights unfold. I’ve updated several pages for the final time. MBL will be interviewing me but that’s it, I’m done here. MBBhotmail will be checked on the 31st of December but afterwards I won’t be returning. If you want to say something; nice or mean, it’s best if you just comment.

Add me on FB if you would like. Email me and ask me for my personal Email. Follow me on tumblr: http://ahh-dorable.tumblr.com/ and polyvore: http://fashioncrumb.polyvore.com/. If you would like, you can check out my joint blog with my friends, it’s really full of inside jokes you will never understand but here’s the link anyways: http://iheartrubberducks.wordpress.com/

Just to clarify, no I will not be creating any other blog of sorts on WordPress.

Massie Block.

Swiftly Does It

Happy Birthday Beautiful

Today is the beautiful Taylor Swift’s 22nd Birthday!

I love her so so much – from her personality to her dresses and her winged eyeliner all the way to what made her famous, her amazing voice and song writing skills.

I’ve been a Swiftie since 2008 when Love Story first blasted through the radio but I have still never attended a concert :(

Inspired by http://swiftsecrets.tumblr.com/ today, in honour of her Birthday I have decided to reveal some secrets of my own.

Swift Secret Number 1: I get really annoyyed when my friends say Taylor Swift isn’t very pretty or her eyes are small. To me she’s the perfect kind of flawless, really beautiful.

Tumblr_lw1j7y0iwi1r7j6d5o1_400_large

Swift Secret Number 2: I recently got the concert DVD and in the back, Taylor dedicates the DVD to the “beautiful, wonderful people who were kind enough to grace me with their presecene and company (at her concert).” I hate this line because I won’t be going to her concert when she comes to Sydney in March and somehow this makes me feel much more less of a fan.

Swift Secret Number 3: It annoys me that people argue over facebook/twitter/myspace/etc. about who is a bigger fan. I don’t think Taylor would have appreciated bickering like this. Taylor should be enjoyed equally.

Swift Secret Number 4: Her obsession of cats freaks me out a little.

Swift Secret Number 5: I have never been in love, yet her lyrics relate to me.

Tumblr_lp9jou3n2c1qgbgpjo1_400_large

Swift Secret Number 6: I love how she says, “hi i’m Taylor,” at the beginnning of her concerts. It’s so down to Earth and I would love to meet her someday.

Swift Secret Number 7: Ellen de Generes and Taylor make a great duo, they’re naturals together.

Swift Secret Number 8: Taylor sqaured was the cutest thing. EVER.

Swift Secret Number 9: My greatest fear is that I will see her and be too shy/scared/stunned to say hi, get a picture or an autograph.

Swift Secret Number 10: One day, when I have kids, I will show them my Taylor albums and hope they won’t cringe or roll their eyes.

Come back later in the day for my Last Kiss On The Piano cover on YouTube. I haven’t had time to do it yet but I wanted to publish this post on time so, yeah! Hope you all enjoyed!
Okay so I finally uploaded the video guys! I know I don’t do her song justice and I’ve never taken singing lessons or anything before but ahah, yeah just listen quietyly ;)

All I want for Christmas is you.

WordPress is snowing and so is Westchester.

Santa Claus (old perverted men, well thats how I see it now ;) ) are getting paid to let kids sit on his knee.

Trees are adorned with baubles, school – made cardboard ornaments, twinkly fairy lights and topped with a star or angel.

Christmas cards are sent away with a candy cane wedged between words of happiness.

I’ve made a list and I’ve checked it twice, hell yeah, bring on Christmas !!!

Our living room has been given the rockfeller treatment, my Christmas shopping is almost done (from the comfort of my Mac & thank gawd for complementary wrapping) and Bean is constantly chewing on gingerbread doggies. For me, this is the best season of the year. Ah-gree? I adore Christmas. When I was younger, it was for the chocolate advent calenders, disney themed carols and of course, the presents. But now, at fifteen, Christmas is way more than a gift wrapped in patterned reindeers and topped with a silk ribbon bow. I love the atmosphere, the way champagne glasses clink, the squeals after a cracker is pulled and the smell of mince pies coming out of Inez’s oven.

When I was a little girl, I used to come down with a fever on Christmas eve (true story bro!). It must have been the excitement boiling in my kiddie self. I remember my Dad let me open one of my presents early just to cheer me up. I used to be able to sit in front of the tree for hours; watching the lights flicker, checking my wishlist for typos, rearraging the cookies and vying myself to stay awake just so I could see the jolly old man in red come down the chimney. No matter how many candy canes or hot cocoa I devoured, I would never make it through the evening. But on Christmas morning, I would wake up and realise I had been using a present as a pillow. I was awfully confused and my mother reassured me it was magic. And there is no need to explain magic. Because magic is magical and thats that.

So I bid you all a very merry Christmas sweeties!

Wonderstruck

Massie lifted the charm out; it was in the shape of a carriage, “how quaint.”

Alicia beamed, “it’s for your charm bracelet.”

“Really, thanks! I never would have guessed,” Massie snapped sarcastically.

Alicia ignored the dig and made her way to the window ledge which was overflowing with bouquets of flowers, sent from the suitors, of course. “Wow, look at these arrangements, you’re so lucky to have so many boys courting after you.” Massie’s eyes rested on her friend’s ample cleavage again, not for long. She shrugged modestly and bent down to adjust her shoes. She glanced at the clock. Five minutes. Showtime.

Massie gripped her charm bracelet for good luck and peaked through the heavy curtains to take a look at her suitors. Unfortunately, none of them had attached a portrait so she has no idea who was who. She counted them again, six were present. Suddenly, a young man dashed in, “sorry, sorry, I was over at the stables and time caught up on me,” he flashed his adorable dimples. Massie blushed, thankful for the thick curtains that concealed her red face. He was, obviously, Lord Abely. William Block frowned in her return, he despised tardiness and this boy was twenty minutes late, how dare he enter, after a senior!

The orchestra started playing and this was Massie’s cue to enter. She lifted her skirts and made her descent down the staircase to the beat of Mozart’s Concerto No.13 in F Major. Massie curled her lips into her famous mysterious smile. She met the eyes of all seven suitors before taking her seat at the end of the table.

Whilst the entrees were being served, the suitors introduced themselves to Massie and her father. During dessert, William Block stopped mid-pudding and clapped his hands for attention. “Tonight, I have a special surprise for you. I have decided to throw a ball in my daughter’s honour!” Massie’s left hand flew to her lips in shock, “why father, that is extremely generous of you, are the girls invited?”

“Yes of course, the boys will have to have someone to dance with.”

Massie slid out of her chair, “would you excuse me, I must inform the girls about this delightful event.” Massie swiftly moved up the staircase, through the hallway and into her room. Alicia Rivera, Dylan Marvil, Kristen Gregory and Claire Lyons were all there giggling and trying on her expensive ball gowns.

“Eh-ma-girls!” Massie screeched.

Everyone froze and widened their eyes, “Mass, aren’t you meant to be mingling?”

“Well I was going to tell you to put away those ball gowns but my father has decided to throw a ball and you’re all invited.”

Squeals of delight followed and Massie had to clap her hands to quiet them down. Dylan whipped out her fan and fanned and her reddening cheeks. Alicia tugged on her sash tighter. Claire Lyons picked at her cuticles and Kristen Gregory was doing some weird heel – toe action.

The night went on and Massie danced with all the boys, loving the way the attention was on her every second. Christopher or Chris as Massie liked to call him was the best dancer, waltzing in time with every step, looking intensely at her with every turn and bowing graciously when they were done.

Massie Block was a special specie, rare like a ruby, hard to weaken like a diamond.

She was the type of person who was rarely genuinely impressed but tonight she was, wonderstruck.

Seventy Five Posts

Twenty Two Pages

It has been a HUH-yuge year on WordPress and MassieBlockBlawggie turned one last week, on the 14th of November.

It suprises me that I have managed to keep this blog for three hundred and sixty five days. You see, I am the type of person who will jump on a trend for several months and then drop it very quickly. I’ve been thinking for days on what to do for this post. Should I thank the thousands who have visted this blog? Acknowledge my WordPress friends? Write a metre long shout out list? Create a YouTube video? Hold a global chat? I honestly do not know and I still do not know so I apoligise if this post is a lil jumbled up and all over the place with my ramblings.

MBB Timeline

October 2010: I became obsessed with Massie’s comebacks and went all over the internet scavanging for them. Looked up Massie Block on Google images and found a beautiful header which belonged to iMassiekur4ever, my inspiration. At the beginning, I don’t think I really made the connection that she was a roleplayer. I favourite-d her and checked IMK daily for updates. I think after a few posts, I actually made the connection and decided ‘hey I can do this too!’ Buttt I held myself back and waited until all my yearly exams were over.

14th November 2010: MBB is created. This is my very first post, it’s so cute: Helloo F.O.M (fans of Massie) My original makeover is the one MBB is currently wearing now except using WordPress 2010 Theme. It’s a little more cleaner than my very first one, that being I used Photoshop because I had to recreate the header on account of me losing it. Now that I look at it, it’s not as bad as I originally thought it was, nonetheless, the font is a little juvenile.

December 2010: Bringing Massie down to Australia and itroducing the real me to the rest of WordPress. After my About Karen page, many roleplayers followed suit. ‘Lauren’ (Not CoutureoftheWorld), writes to me about how I should quit roleplaying because it will totally ruin my friendship with my friends. I actually couldn’t sleep that night, tossing and turning over whether I should quit or not. I stayed and obviosuly and if you are reading this, HONEY YOU WERE SO WRONG!

April 2011: Found a heap of BZMclaughlin’s beautiful pics, became well known as the Massie with the most exclusive photographs. Charmed & Dangerous, my first competition also began, I consider this one of my favourite ideas ever.

May 2011: Be careful with what you wish for. I remember thinking at the beginning of May how boring WordPress was being and how there were so little Fassies popping up. A week or so later, MassieBlockSBlawggie came along and stole a bunch of my things. I consider this a milestone because this was the very first MBB imitation.

June 2011: Spalpha4life, Alicia joined WordPress. One of my best real life freinds.

July 2011: My most successful post to date; Juicy Daydreamer was published this month. A huge amount of comments and love that week made me so so happy.

August 2011: Or was it July? Crazy amount of bitches acting as Gossip Girls. Survived my first WordPress summer.

October 2011: Kristen Gregory Original, another RL friend joins my clique. Classieque Magazine holds auditions.

People I would like to thank in order of commenting on my blog:

iMassiekur4ever: My first commenter, ever.

Kaddie: Ah-mazing. One of my favourite WordPress people. I still remember the Polyvore set you made for Massie (:

XOAliciaRiveraXO : My first Alicia Rivera, the one who approached me asking to join my clique. Super loyal chicka while it lasted but then she disappeared one day without a trace ):

Asi: When I first saw your blog, I was like damn you’re pretty. It’s such a shame you deleted PrepLovesPink08 because I would have loved to see your previous posts.

Natalie Marie: I really liked Nat, she’s still one of my Facebook friends so I was really disappointed when she left WordPress after being stalked on her previous blog and then making NatalieForever.

Natalie: LON one. The current best commenter on MBB. You, ma dear are the sweetest, classiest girl ever. The effort you put into LON inspires me, how do you post every single frickin’ day?

Vivalaarielle: I loved this darling’s real life posts but she has quit as well :(

OMEB: Ava, one of my biggest competitiors and a person with fresh ideas constantly brewing.

Annie: My middle name is also Annie too if you didn’t know already. Such a shame school has stopped Annie from HCAM. My fellow gleek!

MBL : and I didn’t get along very well at the beginning, mainly because we both wanted the same Kristen or something. That was ages ago and now MBL is probbaly known as one the sweetest commenters on WordPress.

Lauren: Also someone who I didn’t get along with at the beginning, she can get fiesty if you cross her, I know that now ;)

OMB: A legend on WP, super stoked when she commented!

Abi: My Dylan for a while and then she went RL, I think we left on a bad note :(

Other honourable mentions: AR13, Ahnna, AMB, Jana, Ari, Emma, Leeshriv, OBW, SAR and anyone who is reading this ;) (i know i missed out people and i’m so sorry!)

Karen.

Love Letters

Massie Block checked her reflection in the mirror and noticed the satin ribbon of the cream coloured corset which hugged her tiny waist had come undone. Again. She sighed, picked up the gold bell which sat on her dresser and impatiently shook it. She was in a dress made from ‘silver’ bridal brocade with an  underskirt of pale gold brocade, pearl and jewel decorations. A mucker maid dashed in and curtsied, “yes, my lady?”

“I need you to tie up my corset,” instructed Massie. Inez tightened the ribbon before triple knotting it securely. Massie’s cleavage practically doubled and she smiled to herself, a definite 9.6 hourglass perfect today.

William Block entered, a huge grin on his face, “daughter, the suitor’s eagle mail just arrived to inform us that they will arrive in approximately,” he held up a finger whilst he checked his brass pocket watch, “an hour.”

“Thank you father that should be enough time for me to do some preparations,” she narrowed her amber eyes, “in private.” William tipped his hat, “very well, you need to be at the entrance to the left wing at seven sharp, all eyes will be on you so don’t you dare try one of your late entrances on this occasion.” Massie rolled her eyes, he was such a conservative. He turned on his heel and left. Inez quickly curtsied once more and rushed out in a flurry of apron and flour.

Massie picked up her powder puff and began dusting her face, creating a velvet-like texture on her face. She looked like a ghost, pale and hollow. Wouldn’t it be nicer if everyone could fake a bit of a tan? But no, all the debutantes and her best friends wore their makeup like that so Massie was expected to follow.

Massie knelt to the ground, careful not to ruin her dress and took out a mirrored box from under her canopy bed. She lifted the lid and brought out a stack of letters, all from her seven suitors whom she was finally going to meet this evening. She reread them all and then sighed dreamily. She liked Lord Christopher Abely the best. His fascination with horses was his best quality. He could be her future knight in shining armour. If only the society would let young women, like her, ride horses but that was considered improper and Massie was in no position to complain.

Someone tapped on her door before letting themselves in, “Mass?”

It was Alicia Rivera, the most beautiful girl to have ever swept the land and also Massie’s appointed maid of honour when she wed. Massie turned around and pursed her lips as soon as she saw her friend. It wasn’t fair, why was Alicia River blessed with C cups, so curvy, she was a definite 9.9 hourglass perfect, maybe, perhaps, even a ten! Alicia’s mouth broke into a mischievous smile, “so, are you ready to meet them?”

“Obviously,” Massie retorted.

“I have a present for you to bring you good luck,” and she reached under her full skirts and produced a regal blue box.

“For me?” Massie’s eyelashes fluttered. “How kind of you. Wait, question first. Why did you put it down there, in your skirts?”

Alicia covered her mouth and giggled softly, “I had my fan in one hand and my purse in the other so I didn’t know where else to carry it. Now, will you please open it?”

Sensing her friend’s impatient tone, Massie took her time, shaking the box, inspecting it from all angles, tugging the ribbon ever… so… slowly… “Gawd,” Alicia snatched the velvet box away and tore away the wrapping herself.

Massie shook her head and mock scowled, “that was awfully rude, the recipient should always be the one who opens the gift.”

Night at the Museum

Alphanabees,

When your Twitter is filled with hashtags (#MBnightatthemuseum), your tumblr is heaping up with notes, your facebook wall is filled with messages of thanks and people aren’t turning up at school because they’re too sick from all that delicious candy, you know you’ve done a good job at hosting a Halloween party. So here I sit, reclined on a massage chair, the kneading on my back feeling like my friends are patting me on the back on a job well done.

I just checked out from the local spa and my nails are painted Essie’s Bobbing for Baubles which is this gorgeous deep dark saphire and my favourite colour from Essie’s new Cocktail Bling Collection. I’m in my Victoria’s Secret yoga pants and an oversized Wildfox Couture sweater. I think I’ll have a quiet day today, shut down my Mac after blogging, switch off my iPhone4s and take Bean for a trip down the block.

Halloween was such a hectic day and night but in a good way. I may have lost a pound from stressing but then loaded it right back on with the sugar. By midnight, I was thankful for the Hersehy Kisses scattered around the musueum because without them I would have literally walked around like zombie. The Pretty Committee only did a few streets for trick or treating this year because we had to head over to the musuem to greet the guests. However, I saw Dylan and Claire sneak out during the screening of Paranormal Activity and return, arms laden with more sugary snacks. Busted chicas!

Guests rolled in at eight, carrying totes of treats and sleeping bags. The boucers handed everyone a bulb powered candle because all other means of electricity had been cut off to make the experience more terrifying. They had to enter the lift which ‘stopped working’ during the ride and Bloody Mary began appearing in the surrounding windows. I’m sure the security guards had a blast laughing at all the spooked out people.

The night started off with a giant game of hide and seek complete with mummies, cobwebs and harmless booby traps. Alicia and some hawttie went missing during the game (I hear it included the darkest corner in the museum ;) ) but everyone was having far too much fun to notice. Afterwards we watched Paranormal Activity and danced until midnight-ish. I don’t think we managed to get to sleep because everyone was way too hyper and giddy anyways!

So as I said before, the Pretty Committee went as Disney characters; me as Minnie Mouse, Alicia Rivera as Belle (Beauty & the Beast) , Claire Lyons as Alice (Alice in Wonderland), Kristen as the little red riding hood and Dylan as Ariel (Little Mermaid). We all got our photos taken professsionally before the party and here are the results. Dylan Marvil felt ‘bloated’ from her pre-candy party so she passed on the shoot.

Spalpha4life started the trend of photoshopping The Clique Cast heads into bodies. She did Alicia and Kristen and I did the other two crappy ones. Copy cats followed but they have never managed to make them as professional as hers. If you would like some help with your next header, please check out requests. The catch? Just one simple advertisement! Done done and done.

So November is now here which is why I have redone my blog. The next post is going to be so exciting and one of my best ideas yet. It’s in my draft and I’m waiting for enough comments and then I will post. Can you guess what it will be about from my header? And how do you love all the quote widgets? So adorable and sweet!

Massie Block.

PS: Here’s a short extract to get you all excited.

PPS: “So Kim Kardashian is getting a divorce, 72 days after a wedding that is variously reported to have cost $10 million or more. Just to put that in perspective, that sum could have built 200 schools in poor countries around the world for kids who desperately want an education. Then Kardashian could have helped transform the world, not just entertain it. And the schools would have lasted incomparably longer than her marriage.”
